Slugs eat because of their survival instinct and for gustatory indulgence.
Athletes eat and use supplements for ten central purposes that go beyond mere survival or gustatory indulgence:

5. For aerobic energy
6. To reduce pain and inflammation

I think the most important thing we need to gather is stuff you can easily store in your bag that you wont get sick of in large quantities. Lentils! beef dishes tend to be a little hard to eat when they are cold :/

Sausage with garlic salad filling
Ingredients
sausages of your favourite variety
lettuce
tomato
cheese
carrot
avocado or sour cream
fresh garlic finely chopped
capsicum
paprika (optional)
ground black pepper
chilli (optional if you like it hot can add it)
Preparation
1. prepare garlic salad, chop up lettuce, tomato, capsicum and grate cheese and carrot into fine mix.
2. grind up 2-4 garlic cloves into fine pieces add to salad and mix up
3. add 1 fresh avocado and stir into salad
4. add paprika and ground black pepper into salad and mix well
5. now salad is ready, cover bowl or refrigerate
6. cook up sausages
7. drain any excess oil, cut the sausages longitudinally
8. add fine salad mix within the sausages (ie inside the longitudinal cut) and serve.
one advantage of this is the garlic salad makes the salad less bland and it mixes well with sausage in particular.
