I was curious if ankle tightness could lead to knee pain. Recently i have had an ankle injury and it caused tightness in my joint on the out side of the calf. During the therapy the joint loosed up and felt great so i went back squating heavy again and stopped doing the stretches. Now about 6 months later I have noticed a pain in the vmo area of my knee joint that seems to disappear when i warm up my ankle thoroughly and when i wear an ankle sleeve. I was curious if the knee pain could be caused by the ankle inflexibility. I recently started to do the band stretches again and the pain disappears. The Knee still feels stable and it only hurts right where the vmo inserts in to the knee cap. I read recently that my hamstrings maybe overpowering my quad so i started doing bulgarian squats, lungs, split squats and the problem seems to get better but the ankle stretches seem to work better. So what im asking is my reasoning right, could the ankle be causing my knee pain or is it something worst?
