What the eff happened to my body?

I see that turning 30 immediately destroys your body over night. I was not aware of this, and would not have bothered turning 30 if I had known in advance.

30 wasn't so bad, 40 was

30 wasn't so bad, 40 was noticeable from the standpoint that most of my gains are now in the area of abdominal fat. Hang in there, what you lose in recuperative ability and hormone production, you gain in knowledge and determination. Hope nothing serious is wrong!

Yukon - LOL, couldn't have

Yukon - LOL, couldn't have said it any better.

30?? You're in for a big

30?? You're in for a big surprise when you hit your 40s. Start preparing now. 42 was the first time I noticed things weren't as easy as they used to be...of course that just motivated me to learn more. Not givin' up without a fight!!!

41 was the 'magic' year for me...

The birthday fairy must have hovered over my bed and beat me with her wand on that one! Most noticiable difference, besides Yukon's observation, was the decrease in recovery ability. Definitely have to wait longer between workouts and watch the volume - intensity doesn't seem to be the factor for me but maybe that is still coming; woohoo, something else to look forward to on the 50th maybe?

Good Lifting!

This isn't happening, it only thinks it's happening.

I have always been a big

I have always been a big proponent of the "just another number" attitude when it comes to milestone birthdays like 30, 40, etc. But I can't help wondering if there is some sort of timer on my body. I'm--more accurately--about to hit 31 and in the last six-months, I have had sudden onset, chronic problems with my shoulders, low back (I've NEVER had low back trouble) and recovery ability.

I know I am still young when I compare myself to all you guys**, but, dang. I hope this is just a phase.

**This was written on purpose to piss you off.

42 was probably when i noticed things, needed more recovery time, started training smarter, not as many reps. more abdominal fat which is harder to take off. definetly watching nutrition more closely, less carbs. just turned 48 on the 23rd
9th time, you'll notice even more pains in the next few years, so really look at your training.

Let me not judge my fellowmen, but understand them, Lord, and when the casting of the stones begins, remind me of my many sins.

I have had to rearrange

I have had to rearrange training, prioritizing first re-injury prevention and then gains, which always feel weird. it seems to be helping some. But I would like to eventually lift heavy again, whcih hasn't really happened for a while.
