Transgenic acidophilus hGH makers

I assume this can be done with testosterone too. I had my biology class last night and learned how biologists take ecoli bacteria and splice a hGH making gene from humans in them. They produce hGH. Imagine takeing acidophilus bacteria and splicing the gene and putting in yogurt for the elderly. Just an idea I think could be used wtih testosterone.
