Stem cells to replace medial maniscus

I know Europe is years ahead of us at this (soccer players are having kids for stem cells for injury repair) but is it actually possible yet in the USA for stem cells to be implanted in the knee for a new medial maniscus to grow and stop knee problems from a trimming?
