What's Up everyone,
Sorry guys... I have been away for a little bit trying to finish my degree. I'm in grad school now, finally.
First of all, I decided to get certified through the ISSA for personal training. I made this decision after reading the entire NSCA book, all 800 or 900 pages of it. I was a little disgruntled at the lack of information on sprinting or powerlifting.
NSCA is good, but ISSA is better. Doc was right, ISSA has the best program out there. I have not ruled out the possibility of pursuing the NSCA certification as well. Unfortunately, these pieces of paper are needed to convince people you know what you’re talking about. At least with ISSA though you can refer back to the materials and it is relevant to actually training clients or athletes.
Before graduating, I was named the National Association for Sport, and Physical Education National Major of the Year! As far as I know, I am the first trainer to win National Major of the year for my respected subject and be a member of ISSA. Doc can correct me if I'm wrong. No, I don't think I'm smarter or a better trainer than anyone. I have learned to be humble. And yes, I still believe I am one of the top experts in the world on sprinting. Some things never change.
Right now I am teaching high school physical education in a town close to boston. I have been locked into some sort of PEP grant specialist role for physical education which allows me to work with schools in Massachusetts that are recipients of a PEP Grant (close to one million dollars to each school district that wins the grant) and I basically work in all aspects of the grant, directing, advising, and facilitating the grant. I also teach a few classes here and there, and as expected…the kids love me. I still have a dream of being world famous. Why not dream, right?
Anyways, I hope all is well with the forum. How is everyone doing?

P.S. Wow this forum has changed!
It's funny how many folks
It's funny how many folks say this about ISSA. I never intended to "compete" with NSCA because they never educated anyone. In the ISSA we do. Besides, NSCA is NOT accredited. ISSA is. Apples and oranges. But thanks, Timothy, for the kind words!
Sprinting has always been of interest to me. It's sort of a touchstone for anyone who would call themselves a strength coach. If you don't know the science of sprinting, you aren't a very good strength coach! 'Nuff said!
Actually the NSCA is
Actually the NSCA is accredited, but they're accredited through a privately owned accreditation agency that is not recognized by the USDE or CHEA. You know doc that I've spent an exuberant amount of time on this.
Anyway, what about the KB Fitness course? I sent you that one a long long time ago. Did you ever get around to nit picking it for me?
Welcome back. And well done
Welcome back. And well done on your achievements.
Look forward to your posts.
