MERRY CHRISTMAS (injury back to full power)

First of all roomies, MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Sucks when we have to say "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" for fear we might "OFFEND" someone of another religion or belief. However, being the TRUE RED BLOODED AMERICAN I AM....and I will always say "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!"

Now, onto my injury. About 2 weeks ago, after benching 570 in training, I went down to 185 (never take this weight, but it sounded good), to do a warm down set (which I also normally dont do).

Coming down with my 1st rep with 185, I felt a pull (tinge of pain) in my right pec. Go figure. Rather than pushing it up, I left it on my chest, has my buddie just pick it off of me. He was laughing, thinking I was kidding. I dont feel anything major happen, but I knew "Something" happened.

Ive learned, right when you feel something? if you can safely end the lift IMMEDIATELY, do so ..and "STOP!!"

Usually, whatever you done is minor at that point, and if you continue, you can definitely "SERIOUSLY" injur yourself.

Anyway, the next week? 135 lbs benches hurt and I could only do a few. I still felt like it was minor. NO swelling or any dis-coloration.

(LISTEN TO YOUR BODY)

I lifted again the next week, and took EVERYTHING slow, with my spotter hands on 225 and 275. I put the shirt on and tried 405 "CAREFULL"...no problem )) Then, 405, 455, 500. Not a bad day and everything felt good.

4 days later, benched 550 EASY and faily fast, then 600. I didnt get the 600...but gave it a good run. Needless to say, im healed up. Still taking the warmups slow for another few weeks, but im sure by "LISTENING" to my body, I kept myself from hurting myself seriously and allowed my body to recover quickly.
