Ed Coan Interview

This week, Dave "Jumbo" Palumbo and John Romano interviewed powerlifting living legend, Eddy Coan on their new Heavy Muscle Radio program.

To put Ed's lifting in proper perspective, a person can look at his deadlifts, because the deadlift is the lift that's the least affected by powerlifting equipment (suits) and by judging standards in the different federations. In the 181 Class he's the 2nd biggest deadlifter of all time. In the 198 Class he's the # 1 biggest deadlifter of all time. In the 220 Class, he's the # 1 biggest deadlifter of all time. In the 242 Class he's the 2nd biggest deadlifter of all time. In the 275 Class (which is a really heavy body weight for him) Ed's still the 10th biggest deadlifter and he's the lightest man to ever officially pull 900+ pounds.

I had a listen and found it

I had a listen and found it quite insightful and entertaining - particularly Coan's stories about OD Wilson.

His comments about the evolution of suits and other gear, and lifting federations, were also interesting.

In all, for me at least, he came across as quite humble... especially in light of all of his accomplishments.

Great stuff!

Thanks, Doc.
