basically that was what my finger looked like friday during my flag football game, dove for a flag and my left ring finger got jammed, also my little finger but did not notice that till saturday
right now I can touch the palm with my finger but cannot make a fist
if I touch around it it only hurt in the inner side and bottom of the joint
the doctor said my xray had no fractures, and he recommended ice and inmobilization...
but from having several ankle sparins and other injuries Ive found that if not broken, moving the joint to increase blood flow works better
any tips? what about doing contras ice and hot water like with the ankles? or some sort of work with bands?

Just ice for a couple of days...15min on and 45 min off, as often as possible. Wait for the inflammation to subside a bit before you apply the heat. After a few days add some heat, take the joint through passive motion, then active motion, then ice it down afterwards. Go as far as you can without causing too much pain. Give it the time it needs to heal. Shouldn't be that long.
