HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Very amazing! However, I can't help marvel at the amount of risk he is taking. The spotters weren't that close to him. If he fails I can just picture all that weight coming forward and him slamming his knee into the ground with x amount of force. But damn! That was amazing.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Strong, but stupid. That was ego training. No need to do lunges with that much weight.

BIG DADDY's picture

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

it's only heavy if you can't lift it. the weight doesn't seem to be heavy for him.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

He's handling that weight easy. I don't think he was too worried.

ot wasn't ego traing he just wanted to get stronger and if u can do y not
power to him
besides he had good form people have to stop hating

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Wanna know...what the hell was he listening to while he did these lunges? Never could figure out how guys could lift with earphones!

405 ain't hay, so this guy is strong! Carrying on a conversation, no less! With EARPHONES! Now, show me some numbers in a meet.

Ugh!

Lemme tell you a true story. I went to a gym where a guy was squatting with 405. Asked him if I could work in, and he said, "No. I'm maxing out today. Wait until I'm done."

So I shouldered his 405 and walked calmly to another squat rack. Said to him, "Now you can wait until the bar is once again unloaded."

Doc, have u seen that clip of Kirk k from Power Unlimited Movie where he tells the story about that kid bein in the squat rack on squat night. Everybody knew that on that night at that time, it was kirks rack. he walked up to the kid and says '5 minutes' while holding his hand up. So gets his stuff together and when the kid is not done in 5 minutes Kirk walks over to the rack and tosses the bar across the room over the bench press station, tells the kid 'this is my rack, ur done' and puts his bar on there. haha of course his version is ALOT more animated! haha it was great! he has got some awesome stories... haha

that story made him sound a little crazy. now my story has a little more class. i squat on saturday between 2pm and 6pm this has been my thing for years. now this guys has been in the gym for about a year so he knows my schedule i come in at 2 my usual time and there he was in my rack. i sat down on the bench behind him for about 10 minutes ( which seemed like hours ) then i asked how long are you going to be he said about an hour or so ( meanwhile jeff is setting up in his rack holding back his amusement) . i then took a deep breath and said here's the deal i squat from 2 to 6 on saturdays you can squat before or after those are your choices he then claimed he had leg pains and left. i haven't had any issues on squat day since.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

My old gym had one power rack which I used from 5-6. I just had to ask how many sets. Some how everyone only had one set left. That or they'd just leave once I got there. The new place has 5 racks so it's never an issue.

Re: HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Well, in this one he goes "a bridge too far:"

Can't deny he's strong though. Lost his concentration when some toddler gets in his way!

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Would you guys really take the next step and physically touch the guy if he ignored you and insisted on finishing his planned workout and not getting out of your way?

The only time waiting annoys me is when the person training won't let you work in with them and they take like 15 minutes in between sets.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

I agree Lenny. After all, these are PUBLIC gyms we are talking about right? Some people seem to think they own the place.

i wouldn't go as far as to touch someone but would definitely try to get him to train somewhere else. i know I'm a bad guy but when your squatting a 1000lbs exactly how is working in going to be accomplished?

C'mon, man. Sharing 101. Or, go to the gym when you're not going to be in the way of the mortals. Or, better yet--for both the other members and especially your training--train at a gym that caters to lifters or is for lifters.

My first training partner had a deal with a 24-Hour Fitness manager that if he came in after 11pm and before 4am, he could do anything he wanted. Worked out fine. I understand your frustration. An hour to wait for someone to finish curling in the rack is a lot. But unless you're paying rent on it, isn't expecting other people to give it up for you just going to piss you off all the more?

you need to calm down i train at 2 to 6 because there's usaully no one there. the other reason is i had the own order 2 power racks and a squat rack so would be in the way. the guy new i was going to be there he always used the other rack. you know what explaining to you the situation is pointless. i don't train at 24hr fitness and i have the ok from the owner to do what i want and thats how i roll. i'm polite about it if he worked out at that time and i was the new guy i would find another time to workout.i think sharing 101 is fine for bodybuilders it doesn't work so well for powerlifters.

I'm voicing my opinion. No harm in that. You sound like you had something actually worked out with the gym which is different than what I read above. Listen, 1000 pounds is astronomical. But truthfully, I don't know a lot of people lifter or otherwise who would actually ask someone to leave the rack unless it had their name on it.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

I understand where the powerlifter's are coming from being upset over waiting for a rack. They make money off meets, and it's literally all business for them, where most other people are there working on their "beach bodies" or whatever. I disagree however with the attitude that you can just walk into a public gym and demand everyone to go out of their way to accomodate you. Unless you own the place or the power rack, nothin' you can do if someone isn't rushing to finish but wait. It doesn't matter what hours are or what you talk to the owner about.

Thats why i bought my own damn rack and put it in the gym! everyone knows its mine, and they know my squat days, that way theres never any problems. besides, i took the safety bars off and added chains so noone can set up to do curls in there! haha

Let me show u what kirks squat day looked like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHg1frcpaNg

he has a freakin audience to watch him train, so its common knowledge when the guy trains his squats.

Nicely played. It'll happen, though: you'll show up one day to see some inventive nutball doing super-slow chain curls in the rack.

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

haha if that happens, heads will roll! heads will roll!

Ive even posted a sign over the water fountain requesting a training partner for squats... still no takers? seems everybody has something else to do on squat days... even when i offer to change my day for them... Puzzled: Puzzled:

Doc i agree.....when you are really seriously training multi-tasking is not the best way to do it..

rdc

HOLY SMOKES THIS GUY IS STRONG!

Didn't mean to start an argument. Just a lot of muscle flexing going on in some of these posts and some of the stories sounded ridiculas. You have to reverse it. I have to wonder how Doc would have felt if someone messed with his weight set up on a day he was trying to phsyc himself up for a new PR. Or what if someone came in and told you what hours you were allowed to use a piece of gym equipment. I know I would ignore them and if it escalated I would let the owner decide. If the owner told me to scram I would scram. But I certainly wouldn't throw things, touch anyones set up, or give anyone orders like I was their father while verbally flexing my biceps.

This is the last post I will make on the issue because I respect everyone involved and it's not really an important topic to me in any way. Plus, I am not entirely innocent, I've been short with people myself when irritated. So I do understand both sides of the coin.

WOW! Those are some real squats. A double on a grand!
Of course he has an audience to watch that sort of workout - just a fantastic piece of lifting - I'd pay a gym membership to watch that.

Thanks for posting that video, I am inspired.
