Doc, The "Horizontal Squat Machine," Whatever Happ

Sometime back, Pro-power equipment advertised a horizontal squat machine, but never had a photo of it.

Was such a device ever actually developed?

It was described as being NOT a leg-press machine, but as being able to actually mimic the squat in a horizontal position.

Whatever happened to it?

Sportstrength sold a few of them. I designed it. It was really an exceptional machine. I liked it! It really did simulate an actual squat. Didn't catch on because of my age-old afflicion...poor marketing.

You gotta hire a marketing guy! We can't have all of these poor products going everywhere!

Thanks for posting a reply, Doc. Also, I stand corrected. It was "Sportstrength," and NOT "Pro-Power."

What's the barrier to better marketing, by the way?

"H-Squat"

We had a machine at the Y I used to go to called the "H-Squat" machine. It's been there for at least 6 or 7 years I think. You had to climb up a few feet to use it, and it had a motion that felt slightly odd at first, but maybe that was because it was meant to simulate a real squat. It felt like you were almost pulling the weight down as you pushed it out.

Was this the machine you designed by chance?

Nope. You're talkin' about the old Arthur Jones thing. Wooooo! The guy did some great stuff in his day, but that machine really takes the cake!
