Hello,
I am 28 yrs old, 177cm and 75kg. I lift for fun but main goals are to improve bench, squat and deadlift. (recently focusing on full-squat) I think maybe late this year I may try for a big pull but for now doing more foundation work and working on techinque. Would like to get as much leg drive as possible.
This is a video of me pulling 130kg X 5 a week or so ago:

and 120kg x 5:

Any advice on form, etc, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
Form looks great
but you should really try some different shoes....aqua socks, wrestling shoes, even some chucks but as you increase your weight, it will make a difference. If you want something more cross trainer like, try nike or adidas indoor soccer shoes..sambas or air rivals...just something with a hard flat sole....I like just my socks (conventional only)
You have pretty long arms and good pulling position
Form
Your form isn't too bad. Your hips come up slightly too early (the hips and bar should rise at the same time), but I've seen much worse. What you are doing is good and I only mention it so you will remember it as your deadlifts get heavier.
Shawn mentioned footwear, and he's right. Most athletic shoes are cushioned -- and you want that when playing basketball, tennis or running distance. But when deadlifting or squatting, it's like lifting on a wrestling mat... Make it that much harder
thanks for the feedback.
i will look into the shoes, thanks for explaining why a hard sole is important. do you think its possible to order them online and ship to japan?
as for the hips i am working on that, thanks for pointing out they are still coming up a little quick. i used to have more problems with it but i think when i started to focus on looking up the whole lift it helped. for the next little bit i am going to work on platform deadlifts, hopefully to teach myself to drive more with my legs off the floor.
thanks again.

Deadlift Video, me!
is there any advantage with shoes over barefoot/socks?
Grip
The alternating grip is cool. I personally have been training with palms down grip with both palm pronated. I found that I could not pull as much with this grip and my grip would give out earlier. I can pull more with the alternating grip. I am not practicing with both types of grip and practicing pinch grips which will help you big time down the line. I also agree that flat soles help a whole lot more on the deadlift!
